Vietnam , officially the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (Vietnamese: Cộng hòa xã hội chủ nghĩa Việt Nam, is the easternmost country on the Indochina Peninsula in Southeast Asia. It is bordered by China to the north, Laos to the northwest, Cambodia to the southwest, East Sea (Vietnamese: Biển Đông), to the east. Vietnam is approximately 331,688 km² (128,066 sq mi) in area (not including Hoang Sa and Truong Sa islands- Spratly and Paracel Islands).

Famous tourist destinations in Vietnam such as Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum , Complex of Hue Monuments ( World Heritage Site- WHS), Ha Long Bay ( WHS), Hoi An Ancient Town ( WHS), My Son Sanctuary ( WHS), Phong Nha- Ke Bang National Park ( WHS), Dien Bien Phu Battlefield, Sapa town, Nha Trang Beach, Ben Thanh Market in Ho Chi Minh city, Hoan Kiem Lake, Vietnam musuem of ethnology... are familiar to internaitonal tourists.

Vietnam is a country in the south of China, which resulted in being invaded many times in the fedal regimes. However, due to bravery, solidarity, patrioticism...ancient Vietnamese always gained glorious victories to defend their own scared fatherland from giant nothern invaders. Today, the Vietnam Peoples Army is the official collective term for the armed forces of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The VPA consists of the Vietnam People's Ground Forces, Vietnam People's Navy, Vietnam People's Air Force, and Vietnam People's Coast Guard. VPA defeated France in 1954, United States in 1975 and China in 1979.

China always want to administer Spratly and Paracel Islands of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. This is against international laws because Vietnam have full historical proof to demonstrate our sovereignty acclaim.
Although Vietnam passed terrible wars with France, US, Vietnamese peoples, who are friendly and tolerant, now want to befriend with every countries to make a new world of friendship, cooperation, mutual development. However, we think US goverment should have more responsibility for what they did in Vietnam war. Were also grateful to Russia for their help during the war.

With a population of over 86 million, Vietnam is the 13th most populous country in the world. Since 1986, Vietnam has made a shift from a centrally planned economy to Socialist oriented market economy ( Which is called "Đổi mới"- Renovation in Vietnamese), the economy has experienced rapid growth.
Vietnam achieved around 8% annual GDP growth from 1990 to 1997 and continued at around 7% from 2000 to 2005, making it the world's second-fastest growing economy. Simultaneously, foreign investment grew threefold and domestic savings quintupled. Manufacturing, information technology and high-tech industries form a large and fast-growing part of the national economy. Vietnam is a relative newcomer to the oil business, but today it is the third-largest oil producer in Southeast Asia. Vietnam is one of Asia's most open economies: two-way trade is around 160% of GDP, more than twice the ratio for China and over four times India's. According to Godman Sachs, Inc, It'll be in the next eleven largest economies just behind BRIC. Achievements in economics lead to poverty reduction, political stability, so education, public health have been progressed much.
As a result of several land reform measures, Vietnam is now the largest producer of cashew nuts with a one-third global share, the largest producer of black pepper accounting for one-third of the world's market and second largest rice exporter in the world after Thailand.

The Vietnamese people are possessed of traditional fondness for learning. Vietnam always take one of highest rankings in International Mathematical Olympiad, international physics olympiad. Vietnamese youth should be proud of our history, peoples, culture... Vietnam is a small country or not, depends upon our own thoughts, especially Vietnamese youths.
