About Me:

Vandaveer is the alt-folk song & dance routine penned and put forth by one Mark Charles Heidinger. Most times he's joined by his good sister Rose Guerin. Less often times they are joined by others. All these times are good times. For verification of such matters, please watch one or more of those spirit-stealin' movin' picture thingies to the right, 'right?

Hey! My husband & I caught your show last night at The Birchmere (w/ Melissa Ferrick). It was our first time seeing you live, & you two did NOT disappoint. The stories you tell through song are so compelling, & your voices are simply incredible. Oh, & I'm pretty sure you gained quite a few more fans! I was in the shop right after your set, & people were talking about how much they liked your music while trying to decide which of your CDs to buy (a few simply chose both). Melissa Ferrick is great, sure, but we were there to see you, & it was VERY cool bearing witness to your ever-blossoming fan base. We had another engagement so we were unable to hang around long enough to meet you, but I'm keeping my eye on your touring schedule...some other evening, maybe? Until then, have a great time in Austin, TX!

I, too, just happened to "stumble upon" Divide and Conquer recently. Your music is somehow...I don't know...so personal! It brings back childhood memories of my summers in Tennessee. It's 30 degrees outside now, but when I'm listening to your music, a part of me is sitting on my grandmother's porch, sucking in hot, humid, misty afternoon air, while we wait out the hottest part of the day. My little family gets a taste of it now via your music. You should see it...I turn up the volume, and within moments -no matter what may have been going on beforehand- my man's brow smooths out, his feet start tapping, my 6 yr old girl starts twirling, and I sway to the rhythm as I watch them, and just smile for a while. It's magical!
