@ilialumbroso nice ranking, altough I personally would let parker share the first place with cannonball cause he has (imo) a nicer sound and the same incredible technique, but different ideas.
why have you listed coltrane as alto-player?
But in the end you can't rank great musicians at all...

in these 30 seconds there are more mistakes (I mean harmonically wrong notes/entire licks played in the wrong key) than there are correct not...

In my opinion this is one of the greatest sax solo's ever performed... so much energy and such a developement during this solo... the whole band is acting like one organism, creating a musical masterpiece. This recording is one of the main reasons I play Jazz.
