@jaruro1 Yes, Rattle lets the piece breathe and so the dramatic punctuation comes through far better than with Karajan.

Karajan normally reigns supreme but I found that this orchestration didn't breath enough and so failed to adequately capture the punctuation that this piece requires.

@jazzdog: Since we are talking about reading rather than listening, Wagner wrote a good deal about what his operas meant. Wagner's irrational hatred of the jews was such that he wrote that he despised the jews to the point that he would never portray them in opera. Clearly this points to a differ...

Top performance, except the recording doesn't pick up the bass very well.

This movie is very much infused with Schoepenhauer's aesthetics.

Pan's Labyrinth is very much underpinned with schoepenhauer's aesthetics.

@lyubomirgt Despite it's rigid structure, an opera like wozzeck is still one of the most emotional heartfelt operas ever written.

C is the God of the hierarchical diatonic scale. This piece is very ironic.
