Faculty of Engineering
Waterloo Engineering is a multi-faceted engineering school with eight academic units, home to about 250 faculty, over 1550 graduate students, and over 5700 undergrads. Over 30,500 alumni have made their mark in industry, academe, and the public sector, in Canada and around the world.
Waterloos undergraduate engineering program is Canadas largest and best. We offer bachelors degrees through 13 programs, in core disciplines like chemical engineering and architecture and in emerging multidisciplinary areas like mechatronics, nanotechnology and management engineering.
Our co-operative education program is world famous. Because of the co-op system, all our undergraduate students alternate between academic and work terms. Our students are leaders and innovators: Engineers without Borders was founded at Waterloo, and student teams consistently take home top honours in national and international competitions.

In the 40 years since the Faculty was created, our students, professors, and graduates haven't simply studied environmental challenges. They've put their ideas into action and made a difference across Canada and internationally. With our green focus we have been able to develop smart solutions throughout the world.
The Faculty is home to 1,200 undergraduate students, 200 graduate students, and 110 professors and staff members. Our researchers and students address environmental, urban, and economic issues locally, nationally, and internationally.
Faculty of Mathematics
The University of Waterloo's Faculty of Mathematics has the largest concentration of mathematical and computer science talent in the world. Perhaps the best testimony to Waterloo's standing and exceptional reputation is the quality and many achievements of the faculty's teachers, researchers, alumni and students. With more than 5,300 students, 200 full-time professors, and 180 courses in mathematics, statistics and computer science, the faculty is a powerhouse of discovery and innovation.
Faculty of Science
With leading-edge discoveries, state-of-the-art facilities and researchers that typically attract approximately $45 million in research funding annually, the Faculty of Science offers opportunities for innovation and exploration. Our world-class undergraduate programs include a wide range of offerings in the Physical Sciences and Life Sciences, as well as programs in Science and Business, Biotechnology/Chartered Accountancy, Biotechnology/Economics and Science and Aviation.
Waterloo Institute of Nanotechnology (WIN)
The Waterloo Institute for Nanotechnology (WIN) is a world-class research centre, located at the University of Waterloo (UW) in Ontario, Canada.
The campus is home to world-class researchers, flagship research facilities and Canadas largest nanotechnology undergraduate engineering program with over 450 students. The overall objective is to establish WIN as a global centre of excellence for nanotechnology and its applications.
WIN is headed by Dr. Arthur Carty, former President of the National Research Council (NRC) and previous National Science Advisor to Canada.
WIN is comprised of 45 faculty members from 8 departments who perform research in nano-materials, nano-electronics, nano-instrumentation and nano-biosystems.
VeloCity
VeloCity is located in the Minota Hagey residence on the campus of the University of Waterloo and provides students a chance to live and work in a residence facility like no other. The common areas of the residence include technological enhancements such as the Rogers Wireless Device Lab, network infrastructure, multimedia, gaming and wifi. In addition, Velocity provides exclusive access to people and companies that can help students grow and take their ideas to the next level -- Industry leaders, venture capitalists, professors, entrepreneurs. Furthermore, students are given the opportunity to collaborate with the best students in various complementary disciplines.
