As a Tamizhan, I like Tamizh songs a lot. This is one of the best songs I came across. But Deva has made a clean lift from end to end of a hindi song of 1951, composed by Naushad.

Laxmikant Pyarelal clearly lifted this song from the original Tamil version ' Nila athu vanathu mele' from movie 'Nayagan' done by universal star Kamal Hasan.

In the original version, the music was none other than Maestro Ilayaraja.

By the way, Dayavan itself was remade from Nayagan.
