I have great interest in developing music video.
I'VE JUST EQUIPPED MYSELF WITH TWO NEW ELECTRIC VIOLINS. A BRIDGE AQUILA 4 STRING, AND A BRIDGE OCTAVE.
I'm happy to report that the 'Aquila' 4 string is much more sensitive to play in live performance than my previous electric instrument. Even with just the bow's own weight, I get a sweet sound from the amp and much more variation in volume from bow pressure alone - eminently suitable for the kind of music with which I'm currently involved.
Bridge violins really do seem to be, as claimed, the most acoustic sounding of electric violins. - No more constantly fiddling with my amp controls during gigs - I hope! - (14/7/08.) -
I was violinist with the semipro working country rock band 'Bandit' on the South coast over 30 years ago, and I've really been in pursuit of that same vibe ever since.
I gigged last year with a 4 - piece rock combo, which was starting to get pretty good, mostly on electric violin with some memorable shows, some footage of which is listed at the beginning of my first videos page.
I'm currently now enjoying accompanying an English singer songwriter, with an accurate and powerful vocal in a smaller outfit, and finding myself sufficiently inspired to continue with practise and developement. Upcoming gig dates, times and venues are posted on MYSPACE, via my website link below.
I'm still keen on guitar, banjo, pedalsteel and mandolin, and I guess one of my ambitions is to someday learn to play bluegrass properly.
- I've been fascinated with a range of sounds since my earliest years.Organ is one of them, with it's relation to Church, Blues, and so many genres -
I have a Hammond at home, a '69 'T' series from JD Hammond of the fabulous Stoned Soul Picnic. I'm based here in Southeast London, UK.
Cheers,

Electric Fiddler --- INCIDENTALLY, I'M 51! ---
Label Type: Unsigned
Band Members: Well, at present, that would be me - However, right now I'm playing with the Andy Smythe Trio
Influences: Bob, Eric, Dan Hicks and the Hot Licks, Jackson Browne, FMac, Moyra, Mother,
Alice, Sarah. I could fill a page here, but I won't.
Thanks to my friend Freddy in the US (freddym223)for encouraging me to accompany his lovely jazz guitar with the violin on some of the tunes listed here.
Sounds Like: I'm a fiddle and guitar player. I like to accompany singers and guitarists. I try to enhance what's already there. Like many people, I'm in a state of evolution. This channel enables me to hear from subscribers, friends and accomplished musos I've found on my adventure, and anyone who'd take the time to drop by and have a look at my efforts. - As an lone improvising fiddler, I'm governed by available inspiration.
To sum up what I'd like my sound to be, I guess it's now known as Americana
