I just had another listen to this clip.....

Something profound and unique and wonderful comes to life when I hear her sing, and I've been trying to find a definition that fits. I feel cleansed or healed as a result of her voice and spirit...not in any cure-for-cancer TV movie of the week way, but maybe in a gentle made a bad day end better way...
It's kind of like Jackie's songs initiate a warmth and a peace in whatever environment I'm in. I don't say this to be Mr. Sensitive Poetry-Spouting Dude,
I say it because, for me, it's true.

Back to the definition...."cathartic" was a possibility...I looked it up to verify I was defining it correctly, and it led me to "catharsis", which led me to....a word I'd never heard before, but I instantly discerned the root word was purge.

PURGATION
a : purification or purgation of the emotions (as pity and fear) primarily through art
b : a purification or purgation that brings about spiritual renewal or release from tension


"...primarily through art..."

It is our privilege to introduce you to Jackie Evancho. She is a 9 year-old songbird with a blessed gift from Heaven. Although she can perform to perfection in many different musical genres, Jackie aspires to a singing career in one of the fastest growing genres in the recording industry, Classical Crossover. A testament to this fact are EP sales from the likes of Il Divo, Josh Groban, Sarah Brightman and one of the genres most recent newcomers, Hayley Westenra.

Jackie is currently working on a private cover EP for release by years end and is seeking a recording contract and representation. In August of 2009, she was signed to WonderWorld TV as their first entertainment artist and will be providing her 2nd command performance by Pennsylvania State Senator Jane Orie on September 10 in rememberance of our flight 93 heros.
