Why am I failing?
A student wants to know why he is failing an English class he hasn't been attending.
As a professor (although I teach History rather than English), I have heard all of these excuses far too many times. It demonstrates the difference between wanting a degree and wanting an education. Too many students today do not recognize that distinction!
