This is the same one Skinner called "The Laird of Drumblair." I wonder whether it is a traditional reel Skinner re-named. His "Bonnie Banchorry" is also known as a traditional reel called "Clootie Dumplings" (at least, that's what the late Johnny Cunningham called it).

Perhaps it originally was Temple of "Fides," which means "faith" in Latin and would make sense going with a Templar perceptory.

Hard to tell whether your dog loves your fiddling or hates it. I suspect that it reminds him of how he misses you and he's moaning: "Ach, Davie, come awa' hame, and we'll tak' mair walks thegither. An' by the bye, wha's the bonnie blonde lass?"

As everyone knows, many, or most, of the American fiddle tunes have Celtic ancestry. This tune is one of the first I learned on the fiddle. It is a contra-dance tune, played without ornamentation, and called "It's a Starry Night to Ramble." I never suspected it was Shetland.
