One of my favorite bands is Mother Love Bone, a melding of glam metal and grunge. No homework needed here. You can't stick every band into a stereotyped genre. Even "grunge" covered many diverse bands and styles, from Nirvana to Love Battery, Malfunkshun to Mookie Blaylock, AIC to Soundgarden...

Rick Wright, the keyboard player for Pink Floyd died today after a battle with cancer. His contribution to rock music through the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s is legendary and timeless. Dark Side Of The Moon still stands as one of the best examples of Rick Wright's genius on the keyboards. At least Pink Floyd played a last live set of songs with David Gilmour, Roger Waters, Rick Wright and Nick Mason not long ago... a little closure for one of the greatest bands of ALL time.
