Here's some stats for Cristiano Ronaldo fans who always bring up the goals figure which supposedly means he's the best.
Mateja Kezman: 39 goals in 2002-2003
The great Marco van Basten: 43 goals in 1986-1987
BOTH players played in the same league. So going by a C.Ronaldo fan's logic:
Marco van Basten is only "slightly" better than Mateja Kezman.
Then some idiots will say "but that's the Dutch league!!! OMG! English League is better"
So let's take a record from the English Premier League. Thanks to DirkDigglerV3 for reminding me of this amazing statistic:
Kevin Phillips, who most of you C.Ronaldo fans I'm sure haven't heard of ... Scored 23 goals in 26 league games in the 1998--99 season. That is is almost a goal-per-game record.
Then he scored 30 league goals in the 1999-2000 season. But do you know who he played for? He played for Sunderland.
So does that mean he was "the best player in the world"? Mind you, he scored a 30-yard half-volley against Chelsea (a big team) and scored against other big teams too.
Something that C.Ronaldo has STILL yet to accomplish.
So, tell me, Man Utd and C.Ronaldo "fans" ... was Kevin Phillips "the best player in the world"?
He wasn't even a regular starter for the English national team and was fighting for his place against the likes of Emile Heskey!

Interesting how? That Drogba was injured most of the season to come back and still score 4 major important goals?
Ronaldo's Liverpool goal meant nothing and was against a nothing team (3-0 down nobody can call them quality opposition).
Torres and Drogba still beat him then, even after rotation, injury, and the African Cup. BTW Roma and Lyon are not big teams. Even Roma the club admit that.
