FUCK YOU GREEDY ASSHOLES. As a former union member, I know how well we had it there. Competitors in the same sector DID NOT HAVE THE SAME PROTECTION, WAGES AND BENEFITS. STAY STRONG MY UNION BROTHERS AND SISTERS - WE MUST STAND UP FOR OURSELVES.

That being said, I've also had problems working in a job as an independant contractor. They may not be union but they also look for ways as to take more money from their people as some of the unions do. I cannot talk about all unions because I have not worked at all unions. As for the insurance question, I would rather pay my own health insurance that fits my needs and get more money per hour then getting a cookie cutter insurance policy that does not fit my needs. And as for the pension question, there are other ways that one can save for retirement other then a pension from a job.

I could have made more money if there were no union there. Another problem I had with the union is whenever we get a raise in pay the union dues would go up. It is hard to make any money at a union place.

I used to work for a company (a department store) that had a union (the UFCW) and the claims that they mentioned in the commercials are concerns that I had as well. One main problem I have with the union is that everyone gets the same amount of a raise in pay. If someone is a harder worker they get treated pay wise the same as the person that only works just hard enough.

United Press International noted that "the group's spokesman refused to release the names of its donors or say where its funding came from." [7]

Berman told Bloomberg reporter Kim Bowman that he had raised "about $2.5 million from companies, trade organizations and individuals, whom he declined to identify." [8]

The paper reported that while Wal-Mart Stores denied funding the group it stated that "it has a relationship in which it exchanges union information with Berman, the group's head." [10]

The Center for Union Facts is a secretive front group for individuals and industries opposed to union activities. It is part of lobbyist Rick Berman's family of front groups including the Employment Policies Institute.

In June 2007, the group campaigned heavily against the Employee Free Choice Act, legislation which "would give employees at a workplace the right to unionize as soon as a majority signed cards saying they wanted to do so." The Center for Union Facts has spent "$500,000 on newspaper and broadcast advertisements this week alone," reported the New York Times on June 20, 2007. [3] The group's print ads for the campaign compared union leaders to Ugandan dictator Idi Amin and Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, calling the bill a "scheme to eliminate workers' right to a secret ballot."
