In North Dakota we had a high school band almost this good. In the 1970's it won two international competitions. After that, the men "hung their harps on the willow tree." Then, nothing.

Personally I learn more from these overhead views, paticularly fingering. I often struggle with text fingerings. This young artist really gets it done.

Unimaginably beautiful performance. How does she do it? To me anyway the interpretation and musicality of this Op. 39 even exceeded the stupendous performance of Op.39 by Rina Sudo, likewise at the 16th International.

Simply brilliant. Just shocking. To grasp fully what this lady does here you would have to try to force both halves of your brain up to speed in the delicate flilgree sets in this scherzo. I'm told she gave a good account of herself too in Tokyo recently. She played Tschaikovsky's first piano...

It takes a brilliant artist like Ivanova to make terrible music like this sound this beautiful.

Having searched the youtube literature, I discovered only two esthetic and credible performances of the Warrenberg/Rachmaninoff transcription of a Rachmaninoff symphony. One by V. Lisitsa, the second by Anna Federova. 'Nuff said.

Please have respect for the work that went into this wonderful piece. If you ever tried to force both sides of your brain up to speed on this scherzo's filigree set, you'll know what I mean.
