Hope the video is self explanatory enough.

One is a great DBZ simulator, but the other is more what a Traditional fighter is. Brought up as a fighter first and DBZ game second.

I have nothing against the 3D Dragon Ball Z games, is just how it is. They are just not real fighters where 2 human players can bring out all the technical aspects of the game and truly win through raw skill, reading/predicting each other's moves and acting accordingly. I played BT1-BT3 until November 2008 when Infinite World came out. Also played the Raging Blast series since their release dates.

A game that fights using only 1 attack button is very limited and will just never have as much to offer as more traditional fighters. Examples are Tekken, Street Fighter, Marvel vs Capcom and the list goes on. Plus missing key aspects of any fighter that wants to take itself seriously like damage scaling, is a big letdown. As far as comparing it to Naruto Storm games, they too rely solely on a single attack button for gameplay, although to a much wider extent, specially when compared against Naruto Accel games. They also do not have full free 3D flying and dodging/teleport movement.

I don't consider AI difficulty or trying to master teleporting in BT2/BT3 something technical. Doesn't help you when fighting a human and is not a developed inate skill. The movesets of the characters are also very narrow, most characters fight nearly identical. You can only have so much variety in a game while pressing Melee constantly plus Smash and up, down, left or right. Combine this with huge character roster imbalance, only a small portion of the cast is actually playable; with the rest being just not as good if you want to have a fair fight against an equally skilled opponent.

I play and like both types of games but when I want to play seriously I play Budokai. Leave your thoughts below agree or disagree. If you want more details you can read my comments when I reply to people.
