Jimi was a perfectionist. What I see was his feeling that this not going to be a perfect example of his art in this footage. You can also see the same in the Woodstock DVD... although it is cut... they cut out many of his interactions with the crowd... I have an audio tape of WSII in other words....

watch Hendrix "on acid" at Woodstock. Playing with his eyes closed... watch his eyes move both and forth... he knew EXACTLY what he was playing. NOT high. SRV understood his mastery of music and could play in that "orbit". BTW, learn how to spell appreciated.
