Located in the piedmont of North Carolina, UNC Charlotte is a dynamic, urban research institution. Our 25,000 students attend classes at the Belk College of Business, the College of Arts + Architecture, the College of Computing and Informatics, the College of Education, the College of Health and Human Services, the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, the William States Lee College of Engineering, and the Graduate School.
The school was founded in 1946 to serve veterans returning from World War II. UNC Charlotte is the fourth largest of the 16 institutions within the University of North Carolina system and the largest university in the Charlotte region.
