At the age of four, being compared to the late great Michael Jackson, Denzel UnoRed Spencer was a phenomenal singer in the Calvary Baptist Church Choir in Plainfield, NJ. Remaining close to God in the Streets of Plainfield was healthy for Denzel's growth as a man. Denzel Spencer was born on August 29, 1992, the only child to Denise Spencer and one of many to Larry Carson. Denzel was raised by his mother in a house owned by his Grandparents. In his earlier years, Denzel participated in football, boxing, karate, kick boxing, skate boarding and choir. Football becoming his passion from the ages of 4-17, his focus changed from music to sports. Denzel did not have a normal up bringing and did not share similar interests as other children his age. Kids his age were playing with toy guns and action figures while Denzel studied the flute, piano, clarinet, saxophone, and guitar and even practiced singing and writing with his aunt Susan Spencer. Denzel was a very talkative kid, having friends surround him all the time and very stubborn when it came to taking directions from his peers. Through perseverance and determination, he believed any goal could be achieved. To challenge his mind, Denzel's mother would make him study the dictionary and question him about the words he had learned. By the age of eleven, he could recite the words and their definitions in order. In middle school, Denzel became even closer to God by Attending IAMS TEMPLE Christian Academy. Singing in the choir, Denzel became reconnected with his musical roots. Religion being forced upon him drew him closer to rap and politics. Being raised on 90's R&B artists including Mary J. Blige, Jodeci, Dru Hill, Lauryn Hill, The Fugees, and SWV, a softer side of rap came easier to him. Beginning to Rap with his friends he discovered he had the ability to do all types of rap from hardcore to spoken word. As high school drew closer, he became more involved in rap. Denzel's first instinct was to make himself sound somewhat of a "gangster rapper". In order to make this a reality, he changed his name to Murdah aka RedRum. Battling against a rap crew in his high school named CLOUD 9, he discovered he could also battle rap. Creating a crew with his friends from middle school, Red Star Records was formed and Denzel began looking for other so called artists. While this was going on, Denzel was becoming the talk of the school, eventually becoming one of the most popular and remembered kids on the UCVTS campus. Performing during talent shows and making others laugh constantly was what made him gain his popularity. Not having anywhere to record professionally, Denzel recorded off Sound Recorder using Microsoft XP on a logitech desktop microphone. As time progressed he upgraded to a program named Audacity and started using a Radio Shack Microphone. He recorded his first song entitled "Bangin" about gang banging in the streets of Plainfield. This song at the time was listened to by his fellow classmates and with their input he took notes and discovered his flaws and reconstructed his flow. While in high school, Denzel discovered that most females came to him for relationship advice. He discovered he could write songs that tell females how to fix their problems. He began writing love songs from stories that girls would tell him. His first love song written was entitled "So Much More", and it was about what he looked for in a female. Slowly but surely, females picked up on it and began creating videos of themselves dancing to his songs on myspace. This being one of his achievements at the age of fourteen seemed as if it was sure stardom. As his sophomore year approached, he upgraded his quality and purchased a Macbook and started using garageband. Recording on a Akg microphone and a mini mixer, he began making more listenable and professional sounding songs. With this quality change, Denzel knew it was time for a name change so he changed his name to UnoRed and re-invented himself as an artist and as a person in general. Not being as crazy, loud, and out going, Denzel focused on music and started creating songs that told a story and not a reason. Through this change, he began creating Pop music with his first Pop song entitled "Futuristic Lover". Denzel eventually gave up rapping and stuck to that decision for about three years, eventually identifying himself as a pop artist. When 2010 came along, he received a call from a friend about starting a rap group, causing him to begin rapping again. With his knowledge and ability to write different genre's, Denzel used these skills to increase his rapping content and his song content to an ability that he and many others believe is industry ready. Talent, skill, and devotion is what made and still makes Denzel UnoRed Spencer what he is today. UnoRed is currently being managed by Jonathon A Sisco, owner of Point Blank Recordings and is on his way to achieving his life long dream of becoming a successful recording artist.
