sooo umegoyomi sounds japanese right? yeah, so are you japanase? no, so do you speak japanese? weelll not really but I can say "soo desu nee" really convincingly :) so what? so what what? that's it ... well ok umegoyomi 梅暦 【うめごよみ】is japanese and it means plum blossoms (as a harbinger of spring) [but I've never read the book shunshoku umegoyomi]

Movies: Tampopo (タンポポ), all Kurosawa movies I've seen, Kikujiro's summer (菊次郎の夏), The Matrix, A Fish Called Wanda (AAASSHOOOLE!), Nightmare Before Christmas (love Burton's movies - like Big Fish, Beetle Juice, Sleepy Hollow,*, Corpse Bride, Mars Attacks! .. ), Monty Python (all movies and all the skits and everything), Addams Family, Dead Man (1996), My Own Private Idaho, Amarcord, Che ora è, Oci ciornie, Il Mostro, Non ci resta che Piangere, La vita è bella (Principessa!!), City of God, Gaau ji (Dumplings), Being John Malkovich, Johnny English, Snatch, From Dusk Till Dawn, Jackie Brown (love Tarantino's movies), Six Shooter, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, Lost in Translation, L.I.E. (2001), L'Amant, Farewell My Concubine, Bad Santa, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory* (is exactly as I imagined it from reading the book), Toy Story I & II (Rex and Hamm are the best) and other Pixar movies, and Spaghetti Westerns are totally cool (the soundtracks are awesome), Sympathy for Lady Vengeance (Chinjeolhan geumjassi) ... oh and I forgot to mention Sin City .. recently Miranda (2002), Zatoichi (2003) ..
