The Entrepreneurship Center at UMass Boston
Opening in April 2010, the Entrepreneurship Center (EC) at the College of Management adds breadth and depth to the singular Entrepreneurship Specialization at UMass Boston, the only school in this region that requires hands on experience as a core requirement for a degree. The EC's programs, workshops, and mentorships link classroom learning with live practice in real world start-ups. They help students develop the smarts, savvy, and skills to take their place in the 21st century start-up economy.

Athletics
Intercollegiate athletics, intramurals and recreation for the students, staff and faculty are the primary programs of the UMass Boston Department of Athletics. The department offers 16 varsity sports and is a member of the NCAA's Division III. UMass Boston has teams competing in the ECAC, the Little East Conference and ECAC East Ice Hockey. The Beacons have been named All-Americans 93 times in seven sports. The Women's Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field teams have an outstanding record of achievement, including four NCAA Team Championships and 38 individual NCAA Championships.
Another program is the department's service to the community. Whether it's complimentary use of the University's athletic facilities, coaches' and student athletes' sports clinics for youth groups or holiday visits to area hospitals, UMass Boston Athletics is in the forefront of serving area neighborhoods and communities throughout the state.
More than 150 school, charitable, government, and private organizations use UMass Boston athletic facilities each year at little or no cost. Nearly 50,000 people visit our athletic facilities each year, as participants or spectators. UMass Boston's indoor and outdoor athletic facilities are in use by visitors for over 2100 hours each year.
In 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006 the National Consortium for Academics and Sports named the Department of Athletics at UMass Boston as # 1 in the country for community service. WUMB Radio
WUMB-FM is a non-commercial radio station licensed to the University of Massachusetts with studios at the UMass Boston Campus as the central hub for a network of five public radio stations in Boston, Worcester, Falmouth, Orleans and Newburyport Massachusetts. The Boston, Worcester and Falmouth stations all broadcast on 91.9FM. The Newburyport station can be heard on 91.7FM, and the Orleans station can be heard on 1170AM. All five facilities simulcast the identical program schedule, which is produced from our studios located at the UMass Boston Campus. The station's 24 hour a day broadcast schedule reaches tens of thousands of listeners in over 275 cities and towns in eastern and central Massachusetts and Cape Cod along with parts of Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Connecticut. A webcast of our signal can also be heard, live, around the world through the internet.
WUMB Radio is dedicated to produce, acquire, and disseminate high quality, diverse and valued public service radio programming to significant audiences. The radio station is committed to serving as a local and national resource for the cultivation, promotion and preservation of various genres of folk music through its radio programming and selected enterprises.

Give Us Your Poor
Give US Your Poor is a national public education campaign addressing homelessness. It is housed at the McCormack Graduate School of Policy Studies at the University of Massachusetts Boston. In 1999, Give US Your Poor began as a documentary film project looking at homelessness, and has grown into a wider education campaign utilizing networks, media, public support, and the latest research on homelessness. From the beginning, Give US Your Poor has existed not to compete with other homeless organizations, but rather to complement and work with them. Visit: http://www.giveusyourpoor.org/
