Movies:
Mostly I like old movies, as in anything before the 90's, however there are some exceptions. I also like foreign movies better than North American ones. It might have to do that I have seen too many Western movies and want a more broad view of movies around the world. The subjects I generally watch are documentaries, serious drama, comedy, war, etc. I use to even love horror movies but I have seen them too many times.
Music:
Anything that gets me motivated throughout the day.
Books:
I mainly only read history books, but I have read books on political science, economics, and even read some fiction books that were recommended to me. Most of the time I read a few hours a day, but now I am too occupied doing other things, such as writing and doing mathematics.

In the not too distant past, the government encouraged people to convert their farms to dairy. Many dairy farms became established, so much so that the government had to put limits on the amount of milk allowed to be produced. Now, every year, dairy farmers are forced to pour their excess milk 'down the drain', so to speak (as German dairy farmers do not export their produce). The German dairy farmers have too much milk for the population of Germany, and subsequently get paid very little for their produce. In some instances, the dairy farmers are selling their dairy at a loss. The benefit for me, is that dairy is cheap. The bad side, is that dairy farmers are struggling.
It goes like this. The supermarket approaches a farmer, to buy their crop of tomatoes. They say 'I will give you X amount for the tomatoes'. The farmer has little choice, the sooner they sell, the better. I don't really want to go into much detail, but mass production of vgetables and fruit is very bad for local economy. I used to live close to a farmer, who sold the produce himself. We got lower prices, he made a higher profit.
Bottom line: The grocer makes the most profit, not the producer.
