Hey, I'm a senior at Half Hollow Hills High School East and I'm also in the Symphonic band. We're currently rehearsing First suite in Eb by Holst as one of our winter concert songs. We did Liturgical Dances and Abram's Pursuit (both by the same composer I believe) and I have to say, listening to another band play it actually helps me out when I'm playing in mine. I play the trumpet by the way.

Hey - just had a listen to your Liturgical Dances video. I'm in a youth band in New Zealand and we played that piece at the nationals several years ago (we got Silver with the piece), but with only 55 people in the band.

I was blown away by the instrumentation in the band... I've never seen so many trombones (I wish our band was as lucky... the most we've has is 3) and enough french horns to play the piece properly (we had one actual french horn, with other parts played on alto sax).

You're an awesome band, you should be proud of yourselves. Liturgical Dances is a complex piece (I certainly don't miss playing the twiddly first flute parts!) and your band did an excellent interpretation.
