About this user

Dr.Ulrike Thiel is a clinical psychologist, psychotherapist, riding instructor (t B), vaulting instructor (t B) and sports instructor, dressage rider and judge. A "horse addict" from childhood, she has run the Institute for Equine Psychology and Equitherapy in Cranendonck/Netherlands where she caters to the needs of riders and horses. She also applies equitherapy using her specially trained horses and trains other equitherapists. As a scientist she has explored the learning behavior of humans, and as a rider she has years of hands-on experience with the learning behavior of horses and riders. She has tried all the classical forms of horsemanship (such as vaulting, dressage, military and cross-country riding) and has trained one of her horses to reach the Prix St. George dressage level. She knows what it is like to learn riding without being a very "gifted rider" and still give an acceptable performance (especially for the horse). This is why she has now combined her own scientific and professional background with years of experience as both a rider and riding instructor to devolope trainings an write practical guides for riders and riding instructors.
