What started off as a joke Christmas present has turned into something quite special in my life! I had reached an age when I didn't want or need a Christmas present. I wasn't being mean, it was just that I had everything I wanted, but my wife continued to persist and that's when I remembered that, as a child, I had always wanted to play a Ukulele. So of course "wifey" buys me a Ukulele for Christmas. I remember taking my first Ukulele out of the box on Christmas Day, learning my first song by 9.30am and by 10.30am I had filmed my performance on my computer and woken my wife up! This dawn chorus was the first of many times to come when Tracy complained bitterly of the early morning wake up call!

Nine months on I have learned over 50 songs, revived my old compositions, entered a Staff Talent Competition, performed in Italy, played to audiences (the largest being 665), busked for charity and now own several Ukuleles. Where do I and Luigi (my Ukulele) go from here?

Well, at the moment, I am in the process of writing the first Ukulele Henry Show, an idea I've had for a one man show which hopefully will be in a theatre near you pretty soon. Fifty per cent of the proceeds will go to my nominated charity, which is St. Gemma's Hospice and, as I write this, we are vetting suitable theatres, to find the right venues for the show. All I need to do now is find the time to write it!

Ukulele Henry fans, friends and supporters will already know that I am also an Artist/Painter and that I also indulge in web and graphics design and that my ambition in life is to collect one million pounds for St. Gemma's. By using the small talents I posses and with the help and support I have received from you good people, I just know that I will achieve and probably even surpass this target.
