About this user
Unite For Sight is a non profit organization that has excelled on matters of conducting effective volunteer work, distinguishing them as the World's leader in restoring vision and educating the masses on the matters of eye health. The only thing worse than being blind is having sight but no vision. Our vision for a better future for those affected by preventable blindness is our main encouraging factor to address this ongoing issue in new ways. It is not only one's sight that is lost. Blindness affects health, mortality, families, employment, income and the education of children within the family.
We strive to support optometrists, ophthalmologists and eye clinics in developing countries. We hope to raise donations in order to help restore eyesight to patients living in extreme poverty who remain blind due to lack of funds.
We don't need to look far to find poverty in our own community. Lack of education and awareness has been the result of many preventable diseases that lead to permanent blindness. Our organization enables ones who struggle financially to connect with a number of free health coverage programs available such as VisionUSA, Eyecare America, as well as Sight For Students.
With your generosity, we collect eyeglasses and medical supplies to be sent to eye clinics in developing countries, and raise awareness in their home communities about the urgent problem of preventable blindness. We sincerely wish to make a difference that is real and lasting for those who are currently suffering from eye diseases in underprivileged communities.
These people deserve to see, and free surgery can give them the freedom and independence they so desire. Giving is simply an intrinsic good thing to do.
