Nu inteleg ce dezamageste atat de crunt pe cei care urmaresc aceasta discutie. Sa fie oare faptul ca aceasta persoana incearca sa evoce cotidianul medieval, sa aduca astfel trecutul intr-un mod veridic in prezent?...mi se pare o abordare interesanta si noua, nu inteleg repulsia celor ce comenteaza.

Piesa nu a avut, cand a fost facuta in '89 (pana la caderea regimului), niciun caracter subversiv, asa cum sugereaza clipul. Totusi, fortand putin interpretarea, am putea spune ca, metaforic, iubirea este vazuta ca o eliberare.

A Bulgarian friend of mine told me about this song. Indeed, an amazing tune, as only the people in the Balkans could have produced. A region tremendously tormented by history and fate, yet so vibrant when it comes to genuine beauty.

I don't wanna upset the Swedes, but this song is so much better than the over-invoked "Sing for me". This cover transformed the boring original into a touching song that could have easily won the Eurovision should there have been less competition.

I'm neither Danish nor Swede, but I know the Swedish song as well. Really, this song sounds much better and is much more uplifting.

Interestingly, the fact that a small country won annoyed a lot of people out there. This song, as Lena's song, was a call for "return to innocence" in music. Apparently, the people who voted for them are just fed up with pre-packaged Lady Gaga type of songs, a genre somewhere between make-up gore...

I was 15 when the song was released. Around the age of Lavigne at that time. This song played quite a lot at that time and we all liked it. Nice, emotional, sincere.

This song is Hungarian only in origin. When Omega created it, it soon became an hymn of noble feelings in times of oppression throughout the whole Eastern Europe. I am Romanian, and my father loved this song. So do I.

@draadlokje I like both Metallica and U2. They are different stories. Singing about a dysfunctional relationship is quite different from singing about the horrors of war, right?

Both are great songs, which influenced their respective genres. But, indeed, Metallica's One might be more influential.

Alicia Keys deserves to be called and recalled as a classic of our times. She will be remembered, I bet, in 20 yrs. time, unlike the talented Mr. J.B, Lady G.G etc.
