I remember reading that they played the track at double speed while filming the video and then slowed the footage down to half speed for playback. Sting had to lip-sych at double speed to the lyrics for them to appear correct at half speed.

If I could play half of those licks I'd be a happy guy.

@Vigilantevocalist Nah, the first time I heard the term was in the late 70s to describe bands like Cheap Trick, XTC, Squeeze, etc. who didn't fit the bill as being punk or New Wave bands. Big Star has been described as being a Power Pop band, and their reign began in the early 70s.
