Sahih Muslim, part 7, Kitab fada'il alSahabah, Chapter 4 (Fazail-e-Ali Ibne Abi Talib) [Maktabat wa Matba`at Muhammad `Ali Subayh wa Awladuhu: Cairo] pp. 122-123
A'isha reported that Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) went out one morning wearing a striped cloak of the black camel's hair that there came Hasan b. 'Ali. He wrapped him under it, then came Husain and he wrapped him under it along with the other one (Hasan). Then came Fatima and he took her under it, then came 'Ali and he also took him under it and then said: Allah only desires to take away any uncleanliness from you, O people of the household, and purify you (thorough purifying).
Sahih Muslim, Book 031, Number 5955
"And We ASSIGNED from among them some Imams who GUIDE by Our authority since they were patient and believed firmly in Our Signs."

SAHIH BUKHARI: Volume 9, Book 89, Number 329:
Narrated Jabir bin Samura:
I heard the Prophet saying, "There will be twelve Muslim rulers (who will rule all the Islamic world).
Note; WILL RULE ALL THE ISLAMIC WORLD!!!
" He then said a sentence which I did not hear...
My father said, "All of them (those rulers) will be from Quraish

The Islamic religion will continue, until the hour has been established, or you have been ruled over by 12 Caliphs, all of them being from Quraish...
The religion will continue to be established till the hour comes as there are twelve Caliphs over them, everyone of them coming from the Quraish"

In Chapter AL-Ma-Idah Allah (SWT) tells those who believe???
Oh you who believe! Fear Allah and seek the means of approach to Him, and strive hard in His way, that happly you may have success HOLY QUR'AN (5:35).
[Shakir 3:169] And reckon not those who are killed in Allah's way as dead; nay, they are alive (and) are provided sustenance from their Lord;
[Yusufali 3:169] Think not of those who are slain in Allah's way as dead. Nay, they live, finding their sustenance in the presence of their Lord;
[Pickthal 3:169] Think not of those, who are slain in the way of Allah, as dead. Nay, they are living. With their Lord they have provision.

Those slain in the way of Allah are not dead. They are alive, getting sustenance from their Lord. The unending life or continuous existence of the martyrs has been fully discussed in the commentary of al Baqarah: 154 and 155.
Death is not the destruction of the ruh (spirit). It applies to all human beings, but as said in verse 163 of this surah "of diverse ranks they shall be with Allah", therefore, the martyrs who are nearest to Him and occupy highest positions are in direct communion with their Lord. Their active consciousness perceives that which is happening in this world even after their departure from here. They can reach us and we can have access to them. Through the grace of Allah, on account of their direct relationship with Him, they can carry into effect that which they desire by His permission. As mentioned in al Baqarah: 154 and 155, they are the Holy Prophet and his Ahl ul Bayt.
