Most people are shocked to find out that I've only been remixing for a little over a year now; I only started towards the end of January 2010. One day I just decided it would be a cool thing to try out, so I downloaded Audacity and started tinkering with an old track I had lying around called "Cyclone" by the Dub Pistols. I didn't really do much to it other than mess around with some loops to make the track an instrumental with hook, as I later learned was the correct terminology, but pretty soon I was hooked (no pun intended) and I ended up making 4 hip-hop remixes within a period of 6 days, and the rest is history...though technically it's all history, isn't it?

My DJ name, MC Shiny, is technically a misnomer, because I'm more of a DJ than an MC, and being a DJ and being an MC are two totally different things. The name is actually a nickname I picked up at school from the initials of my first and middle name, Michael and Charles, and the fact my nickname was already "Shiny", so I was MC Shiny long before I actually became "MC Shiny".

Some of my favorite artists include Eminem, Jay-Z, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, 2pac, Notorious BIG, Kanye West, and B.o.B. Some of my least favorite artists include Lil Wayne, Drake, Nicki Minaj...pretty much everyone affiliated with "Young Money". Also, Pitbull isn't high up on my list, and neither is Flo Rida.
