Well, that could also point to a rise in atheism overall, which would be consistent with other data. It doesn't mean that people trend to be that way at a certain age. It's a common statistical mistake in interpreting studies. The people surveyed at 20 are not the same people surveyed at 50, they are all people at....say 2011. To see how people change, you have to study the same people at different times.

Take the stats for views on gay marriage, likely most for it are of the younger newer generations. This does not mean that as they get older they will reverse their stance on gay marriage. There's societies trend, and the trend for an individuals development.

Another example going the otherway: Society can trend to be getting healthier, while as you get older to you will trend to have more health problems. In short more data, or rather a different kind of study is need for different kinds of conclusions.

The Jews do run the world. I heard the President talking to Netanyahu about reducing the size of Israel, and the next thing I heard was that Obama put Israel on the list of terrorist states. Why don't we deed Florida to all the refugees of the world? Obama bin laden. lol

In Christian circles we get a teaching about how we need to examine ourselves and see if there's enough evidence to convict us of being Christian.

I don't think anyone knows what they are. It's never what we ascribe to ourselves is it? My son Jason will be 22 this Monday, Halloween. He's got my number, see? The bigger the cross the more depraved the individual. :)

It is a negative caricature akin to saying that "jews want to rule the world", but that "of course your saying that doesn't mean you're anti-Semitic or hate jews." Mostly we want to be left alone, and it kept out of the gov't we pay taxes to support. Occasionally we argue beliefs for fun big deal, who doesn't? We also sometimes like to defend scientific discoveries from those denying them simply because an authority said so, some of us are science nerds, I'm sure some theists are science nerds too :)

Odd I thought it was common knowledge that religiosity decreased with age, particularly during college... show sources for your common knowledge before you claim it as such. And as I said before, even assuming it was true "ultimately this means nothing, if anything it's perhaps a variation on an argument from popularity."

That lots of people believe something, or come to believe it with age, is not an argument for the belief.

It's common knowledge that the rate of atheism drops as people get older. God has been proved. God is judically noticed. You can't have existence without Supreme Existence. The evidence is there. Do the research for YOURSELF! What do you think happens when people get older? They DIE. When you watch your friends that you've known your whole life start dropping like flies you'll be doing the research for yourself THEN. Get it? Figure this crap out without having to depend on outside sources. Who says they're right anyway? I knew my parents had parents and so on. I knew from age 5 that God is real. When did you talk yourself out of it?
