I know one of Hughes' idols was Pat Metheny, and as a listener of both, I can definitely see the similarities. I think Metheny's works are more dynamic, but I like both artists.

I agree with many here. I don't think the P Allen Smith segments signaled the end of TWC's glory days. I think Storm Stories did, just because that was when long-form programming started to become the norm.
