a lot of cities are doing away with rotating sirens and are switching to Modulators and the Whelen WPS 2909 because they are a trusted warning system. Mechanical sirens always fail. Thunderbolts are great and they sound good but this country needs to move forward with something that wont fail.

@garyhstorms09 The thunderbolt or any rotating siren for that matter is specially built so that way it slips when the wind is blowing. This is good because if the wind is blowing really strong. If the horn were to rotate against the wind. The wind could catch it and possibly blow it off the pole.
