@eyesofmar2010 also, if you're worried, just make sure to use insulated tools and maybe a pair of gloves. Further, it's hard to break a tube unless you're trying to, and if you have insulated tools and don't break the tube you won't get hurt ever. Driving on the freeway is dangerous.

I've noticed there's plenty of knowledgeable posters here. Can someone tell me what the other coil of wire is within the transformer? i believe it's just a copper coated tin or aluminum. It's much lighter and silver on the interior.

@marcuelcajon the capacitor is attached by wire to the transformer where the copper is at. It looks kind of like a metal flask with two tops. Many people exaggerate how dangerous scrapping microwaves is. The capacitors will drain much quicker than people claim and the fact is by the time they'...
