This song was such a big rage hit, I remember I travelled in July 1997 by bus from Gorakhpur to Muzaffarpur. The song was playing in the bus continously, as well as on every place the bus stopped, at Paan shops, marriage bands etc. Very popular song in those times, fresh and pleasing even today.

I agree, this beutiful song is sung by Sadhna Sargam. I also heard it only once in my life before, when it was played in Mahabharat on DD way back in 1988-89. since then I always looked for it and finally got now. Thanks to defenderofhindus for uploading this gem of bhajans.

This song is from the movie "Holi Aayee Re" (1970). The hero is Premendra who is copying mannerism of Manoj Kumar in this song. He came in only 4- 5 films as a hero. The song is of course a treat to ears.

This clip is from the movie Manoranjan (1974) directed by Shammi Kapoor. Commercially it was a flop.

Many songs by same composers and picturised on same sometimes sound very similar. By seeing this song it always reminds me of another song 'Tera Jalwa Jisne dekha Wo Tera ho gaya" from the film "Ujaala". Both songs composed by Shankar Jaikishan and picturised on Kumkum. Tune is also very similar.

I was not able to recognise initially who was the music composer of this song, but I later found it to be R D Burman. Now it is easily recognisable to be a typical RD Tune, of course of his early years.
