I used to have a copy of this record. Found it in a basket in an antique shop in Phoenix (unsleeved) for a DIME in 1981. Kept it for ten years and sold it to a Lawyer in Boston for more than $200. Wish I still had it, but a 2000% profit is still pretty good. (BTW, the flip side is better.)

Two answer one of the questions: The JABFLA performance was an edited version of this performance. Obviously, this is an audience tape (since you can hear people talking) and the version you hear on the album is from the tapes recorded in the recording truck.

Kate Smith Sings God Bless America
Irving Berlin wrote this song for Kate Smith back in 1938. Nobody could sing it like her.

Hate to burst the bubble of whoever posted this, but God Bless America was NOT written by Irving Berlin for Kate Smith. He wrote it during world war 1 and he HATED IT. Put it in a file (after publishing it, of course) and forgot about it. 20 years went by and Kate Smith came to Berlin and asked h...

Wow! This was a big local hit in Milwaukee around 1973. Which would make sense, since they were from that area. I moved to Phoenix in '74 while this song was in heavy rotation in Milwaukee, and of course, nobody here in the desert had ever heard of it. Oh, the glory of regional hits...

I have no idea why you're crediting Michael Jackson -- that song they're singing is "Soul Makossa"by Manu Dibango from 1972. Otherwise, this is very cool!
