This channel is to support, raise awareness, and educate people on a very poorly understood disease called myalgic encephalomyelitis.
About Me:
Thanks so much to those of you who have been willing to stick with me, and welcome to those who stop by. I am trying desperately to reach all of my previous friends and/or subbers, but there were about 150 of you, so I can only hope that I can find you all again.
First, I will tell you that I am predominantly Cherokee Indian, so that will answer any more questions about that, lol. I also live more like a vampire than those who actually believe they ARE, hahaha.
I suffer from the severe form of M.E. *myalgic encephalomyelitis* and all that goes along with it such as severe tachycardia, dysautonomia, cognitive dysfunction, GI problems, bladder and bowel problems, the inability to regulate my body temp. chronic and severe pain, etc. I also have adult-onset sporadic hemiplegic migraine disorder.
I have been ill for going on 16 years now, so I consider myself a veteran. ;)
I was also diagnosed with vesicoureteral reflux disease when I was 5, and as a result have been in and out of hospitals most of my life, sometimes in renal failure. I now only have 1 functional kidney, as my right one atrophied due to scarring from recurrent infection.
I have mitral valve prolapse with slight regurgitation, which I attribute to the M.E.
I am married to a wonderfully compassionate and understanding man who is not only the love of my life, but also my best friend. Between us we have 4 incredible kids and 1 beautiful granddaughter.

Raising awareness and education. Former cosmetologist who did hair AND makeup in my own salon for many years. After becomig ill, I had to close my shop. I then became a medical transcriptionist, and was employed for a while, but my cognitive dysfunction and inability to type at times caused me to have to quit that job.. I am officially prn status now (as needed), but they know I just can't do it now.
Interests:
Scrapbooking, crafting, jewelry making. I used to truly enjoy all of these things and hope to one day be able to do them again.
Movies:
I love 80s films (Yep, I'm a child of the 80s), horror, and the occasional chic flick. I love all of the Underworld movies, possibly because I live so much like a vampire, lol.
Music:
Pretty much anything but rap or country.
Books:
When I was still able to read and comprehend what was being read, I really liked books by John Saul, Dean Koontz, and James Patterson.
