I read in People magazine in the 70s, a quote by Liza and it struck such a chord with me I have never forgotten it. Liza was performing, the crowd asked her to sing "Over the Rainbow"....and Liza paused, smiled, and said softly, "It's already been done." I've always liked that.

RIP, Whitney. This song was your introduction to the music world; it gave me chills then, and gives me chills still. What an amazing voice.

@bassmanjoe It is actually Tommy playing the solo. Since JY had played the solo in "Renegade," he allowed Tommy to have the solo here, and Tommy wanted to show another side to his playing. He does have the ability to emulate pretty much any guitarist's style; there are solos on the Damn Yankees ...

@janorban64 The song is called, "Woodstock." Joni Mitchell wrote it; Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young had a hit with it in 1969.

I loved the whole Cleveland scene in the 70s and early 80s....MSB, Jonah Koslan, American Noise, Euclid Beach Band...what great music, great times, plus a great radio station in WMMS!! Miss those days tremendously.

Just spent a couple hours going through all my cassettes from the 70s and 80s, found this song on one of them and can't believe it's here on You Tube! I just love hidden gems such as this. Radio ruled in the late 70s/early 80s, and the music did, too. Love it!

@WhiteSilverAngel Well, being more of a Tommy Shaw fan, I can recommend Renegade, Blue Collar Man, Boat on the River, Crystal Ball, and Man in the Wilderness. Awesome goodness. Best album: Grand Illusion.

@genesisisok Actually, it was the Alabama Music Hall of Fame. The entire band needs to be inducted into the Rock & Roll HOF, IMO.

Tell you what.....I have been dialing since the show ended and have been able to get through only once. Man, I love his voice!!
