I'm aware of the issues but its good to here it again.

It is true that few creationists tend to point this out. But as you say microdegeneration of human DNA not only fits with scripture but also fits with experimentation. Look at the increase in genetic diseases for a start. The only time I've heard it mentioned is on on ICR (Institute for Creation Research) - but only in passing.
