Welcome to the official "TruthForFree" YouTube page! Unfortunately, someone else already had the username "truthforfree, so I chose "truthforfreevideo". I also invite you to visit my main website: http://truthforfree.com.

This page features blogs by myself and friends as well as shared content on issues related to life "outside the system" of organized religion. I am a follower of Jesus and I do believe the Bible, but do not attempt to define, contextualize or validate my faith according to patterns of and participation with religious legalisms, rituals, formulas or perspectives such as those common in typical Institutional Christianity. While I have nothing personally against my friends who attend traditional churches (many of whom I know love God sincerely and seek to live out their faith to the best of their understanding and ability), I personally believe that relationship with God is something purely organic. In other words, it stands apart from what is typically regarded as "religion" and cannot be contained by any man-made program or building - nor is such essential to discovering a close connection with the Creator of the Universe!

The Spirit of God does not dwell in temples made with hands (as even the Bible declares), but rather He makes His home in the hearts of any who will make Him welcome! Genuine Christianity does not need a special building (i.e. a church) or a weekly religious program or a roster of members who pay tithes and give offerings to maintain its existence. Real Christianity is comprised simply of a day-to-day relationship with God that inadvertently affects the conscience and the actions of all who believe the Gospel of Jesus. Love is the mark of true faith in God and will be the magnet that draws individuals together in fellowship as they, together, pursue that faith with sincere hearts.

If youre burned out on religion, tired of boring church services, tired of serving a religious machine, weary of lofty-minded religious leaders who impose their presumed spiritual authority over you and always seem to be after your money, or maybe are just sick of all the hypocrisy present in the modern day church system, youre not alone! In fact, Gods sick of it all too and ready to engage a real friendship with you that is not obstructed by all the legalism of organized religion.

His life is liberating and true. It satisfies, heals, delivers and liberates! It also allows you to struggle and work out your faith without cliché answers to everything, patterned responses, and stale religious prescriptions that never work anyway. It allows you to be wholly sincere with God who loves you and to trust only Him to lead you to truth.

I hope there will be something here to encourage those of you who have ears to hear what I am talking about. Me, Im just an ordinary dude. I dont think Im anyone special and I have no interest in coming across as some kind of guru or know-it-all because Im not and I dont. Im just sharing my heart and seeking to relate with and connect to others who are traveling a similar path; to know God as He really is, without any artificial distraction. I have nothing to sell you, nothing for you to join, no cult doctrine for you to follow, and no kool-aid to guzzle. I spent 30+ years of my life serving the religious machine of organized religion and Ive spent the last 8+ years letting God flush out all the religious junk that plugged up my heart and made it difficult to connect truly with Him. I have nothing against church folks but I simply dont espouse any particular form of organized religion (whether in a church building or a house church or some other programmed environment). God is available to ALL who call on Him, no matter what youve done, where you are, or who may have tried to persuade you otherwise.

Heres a few Bible passages that show some of Gods actual thoughts on religion

"I can't stand your religious meetings. I'm fed up with your conferences and conventions. I want nothing to do with your religion projects, your pretentious slogans and goals. I'm sick of your fund-raising schemes, your public relations and image making. I've had all I can take of your noisy ego-music. When was the last time you sang to Me?" (Amos 5:21-23 The Message)

"He is the God who made the world and everything in it. Since He is Lord of heaven and earth, He doesn't live in man-made temples." (Acts 17:24 NLT)

"I'm after love that lasts, not more religion. I want you to know GOD, not go to more prayer meetings." (Hosea 6:6 The Message)

"Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to Me. Get away with Me and you'll recover your life. I'll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me--watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly." (Matthew 11:28-30 The Message)
