just beat this thing on nightmare with fire/entropy/force mage, anders (ice/creation), carver(2h/vanguard) and varric(bianca/varric), took me numerous attempts over 5 hours. i entered the fight with 3 health potions, 7 manas, ended up beating him in the end by controlling carver for the beginning...
