The Nahual Trio launched in 2001 is formed by three young Mexicans guitarist, Mauricio González, Rodrigo Herrera and Josué Gutiérrez, following their meeting with Maestro Paolo Pegoraro during one of his tours in Mexico, decided to follow him to Italy to carry on their musical education at the Accdemia di Interpretazione Chitarristica Francisco Tárrega of Pordenone where there are still studying. They also studied with Maestro Stefano Viola at the A. Steffani Conservatoire in Castelfranco Veneto, where they graduated in guitar with a first class honours degree and currently at the J. Tomadini Conservatoire in Udine where there are attending the 2nd Level Academic degree in Music Disciplines.They have attended courses of chamber music, seminars and master-classes held, among others, by Gian Paolo Bandini, Filippo Faes, Pavel Steidl, Carlo Marchione, Eduardo Fernández, Stefano Grondona, Alberto Ponce, Oscar Ghiglia, Marco Socias and Chistine Meyr. The trio has performed in Italy, Slovenia, Austria, Switzerland and Mexico, taking part in several guitar and chamber music festivals and international events such as the Friuli Venezia Giulia International Guitar Festival, the "Festival Chitarristico Internazionale Bustese", the Niccolo Paganini International Guitar Fest in Parma, the "Giovani in Musica" in Treviso, the "Rasegna Chitarristica Città di Gaeta, the Mario Castelnuovo Tedesco International Guitar Festival in Treviso, "Musica Insieme" in Pordenone", the "Rasegna Internazionale di Chitarra Progetto Mercatali", the "Stagione Concertistica Interensemble-Musica Nuova" in Padova (Italy), the Kooper Guitar Festival, the " 7. Mednarodni Festival Kitare" in Lipica (Slovenia), the Kulturring Velden (Austria), the "Rassegna di Musica da Camera" in Lugano (Switzerland) the "1er Encuentro de Guitarra Clásica México-Italia" in Pachuca (Mexico). They took part in several national and international competitions achieving numerous awards.
