I have launched a website to try to stop the glorification of torture in popular culture focusing specifically on producer/director J.J. Abrams and Star Trek XI: http://trekkies.againsttorture.com
Torture is never justified an always wrong - what's more it does NOT "work". Abrams uses it over and over in his TV shows and often in ways "justifying" its use. Star Trek is a show that promoted human rights and a vision of an enlightened future. Abrams owes Trek fans a guarantee he will not violate the ethics of Star Trek. Please come to the site and sign the open letter if you oppose the glorification of torture in popular culture and art.
