I'm a former young earth creationist just trying to help a little bit.

I am very busy this summer and while I have a few things I would like to post about I simply don't have the time to sit down and work on them.

I did manage to find the time to revise the rules for my channel. I'm asking nothing here that scientists themselves would not face on a daily basis so deal with it. If you think you can't follow them then please go somewhere else instead of wasting your time and mine.

1) If the subject of the video is creationism anyone posting comments must study the Talkorigins Index of Creationist Claims before posting.

< br/>Arguments found on that list have been long since debunked and I have no intention of wasting my time repeating any of them. It is your job to do your homework ahead of time, not my job to repeatedly spoon feed the same information over and over again.

Comments containing arguments found on that list will be removed without question. Please note that this is the first of only two rules for which violation could mean the removal of your comment and for this one that action is guaranteed. Please keep this in mind before you run off claiming censorship and persecution.

2) Be willing to provide references for your claims, be willing to do research when references are given, and be willing to admit when your claims are shown to be wrong.

Doing this will be an indication that you are willing to try and learn something.

Using a book? Give the title and page number. Using another youtube video? Give the name, the link, and the timestamp you think is of interest. Have research references been given to you? Take the time to read them. If a claim you have made has been shown to be flawed or wrong, stop using it (if you continue using it anyway this would make you a liar, and last time I checked there was a commandment about that).

You will be given no more than three (3) opportunities to follow this rule. If at that time you still refuse you will be blocked.

3) Be willing to answer questions and respond to tasks without dodging them or turning them around. If you wish to give references for doing so, please consult rule #2.

Doing this will be an indicator you are willing to try and learn something and may also demonstrate whether or not you understand the theory(s) you are so opposed to, and if your commentary demonstrates you have no understanding of the subject you will not be taken seriously.

Again you will be given no more than three (3) opportunities to follow this rule. If at that time you still refuse you will be blocked.

4) Stay on topic. Don't change the subject.

Different tactics used for changing the subject include asking about unrelated theories (the subject could be evolution but you could bring up big bang or abiogenesis instead. These are all separate fields of study), quoting from religious texts instead of trying to understand a theory you oppose (young earth creationists do this all the time, even though the ideas they oppose make no statements on the existence of a higher power one way or the other), bringing up atheism when the subject is a scientific theory (Yes, atheists do this to. Sometimes they to need a reminder that no scientific theory makes commentary on the supernatural), and responding to a question with a completely unrelated question.

Once again... three (3).

5) Please make every effort to keep your conversations civil and at a pg-13 rating.

Basically this means no making fun of other peoples religions or lack there of, no tossing around of insults, no threats (religious or otherwise -- you're not going to win anyone over with this tactic), and no other inappropriate commentary. This won't be strictly enforced, but I will block people if it gets out of hand.
