Given that the arrangement is a bit different from any I've heard, I'd bet Neil isn't just lip-syncing. It does seem like there is someone adjusting the levels, maybe post.

Also, Chris certainly has samples of David mapped on his keyboard... but that is part of the song.

I have this track on the CD single for Somewhere (US version). Somewhere and Red Letter Day are great tracks (the two "A-sides" on the disc), but I actually like both B-sides (Delusions of Grandeur and The View From Your Balcony) more.

Not all PSB B-sides are to my taste, but there are an awful...

Box Frenzy was contemporary with the early KLF stuff, but a bit behind Big Audio Dynamite. So not 100% original, but still bleeding edge.

I would love to see more of Neil in these sorts of forums. He really does raise the intellectual standard.

I always loved the Rite of Spring line... Since that is pretty much exactly what Igor Stravinsky was going for (or at least describing).

It sounds cleaner than the Banshee's original, of course (the reversed samples were tape loops of real instruments back in '87). But it also seems pretty much devoid of feeling... I wonder if she actually gets what the song is about (it is decidedly dark).

Doing a cover of Helter Skelter is more of a challenge than a tribute.

That said, Siouxsie (especially in The Creatures) did/does a lot of covers... songs she just wants to perform and thinks an audience will enjoy. Nothing wrong with that.

Being a Chumba song, of course there is a larger meaning, but it is certainly a song about football. That also makes sense for Chumba though... football is the common man's game.

I wish we had a video of Chris Lowe's reaction to this. I think a literal ROTFL is possible.

Neil has a receding hairline and a huge bald spot. Just cutting it all off is a good call IMO.

Definitely a Daicon IV tribute... and yeah, slicker animation. But this is actually a lot less complicated than the original 1983 video... and the bunny girl isn't quite as cute ;)

It is pretty astounding how high quality the Diacon 4 animation is. It really raised the bar and set some standards for the years to come... and not just the 'Gainax bounce' ;)

Interesting to hear Neil doing the reading... The cast recording for Closer to Heaven (the musical) has some pretty good tracks actually. Yeah, very "musical" and over-the-top. The intro track, My Night, sung by Frances Barber is really catchy.

If I'm not mistaken, this was written for their "Closer to Heaven" musical, which has some other good/interesting songs in it. I don't know if it was before or after Nightlife, but certainly fits the theme of that album and shares several tracks (with Neil doing the vocals instead of the musical...

Probably my 2nd favorite "straight" Creatures track behind Pity from Boomerang... which really needs to find it's way onto youtube ;)

Weathercade and Godzilla are incredibly fun. Budgie is a f-ing musical genius, and Siouxie is an icon for very good reason.

I can't tell the brand of excavator... which is a big error IMO.

RockBand has made a good start on including the Queen catalog as DLC. They even re-releasing the RB2 songs for RB3 (adding in the keyboard and "pro" parts). Playing the iconic bass riffs is great fun, and the drums on most Queen songs are top shelf (and tricky to play).
