If you could have the soundtrack to your life, who would you let write it? Fueled by bandmates' previous success with both Morning Call and Best Interest, Torrance, California based Transit Studio is doing just that, changing the way that fans experience music. "I came up with the idea that kids should send in their stories, and we would write their song in return. I wanted to somehow connect to friends and fans way more than any band has in the past. Imagine having one of your favorite bands write a song specifically for you," says Jeff, formerly of internationally known Best Interest. The band formed in the earlier months of 2007 after Jeff put together two demos and asked former band mate, Christopher Crandall, to jump into the studio and lay down some drum tracks for him. Extremely pleased with the outcome of the demos, Chris was asked to play drums for Transit Studio. Ryan Black, also former band-mate and long time friend, took over the fulltime duties of bass guitar a week later. The band spent the next few months searching for a guitarist while rehearsing regularly in their studio. Mishka was introduced to the band through a friend and was asked to team up with the trio a few weeks later. Since then, the band has been touring extensively up and down the west coast in support of their debut EP entitled Sing To Save Me. Within the first week of the EPs release, the band has held a top 10 unsigned best sellers spot on smartpunk.com, a popular online distributor. This has given birth to a massive national buzz.
Having held the 1 unsigned band spot on Purevolume and made an appearance on the Vans Warped Tour with previous groups, these guys are no strangers to success. They recently licensed their music to Bumin/Murray for use in MTVs Real World and E!'s Keeping Up With the Kardashians, a testament to their understanding of how to reach their target market. The fiercely addictive Somebody Noble was aired on KROQ, LA's largest rock station, accomplished only through the dedication of the band itself and their legion of loyal fans. Now Transit Studio is taking their sound on the road, reaching out to their nationwide network of fans, and is determined to redefine the pop rock genre along the way.
