"..After 20 years, you analyze a lot..... You remember people, heroism. Many people come up to me and say... that... had they been there, they surely would have died. But it makes no sense, because until you're in a... situation like that... you... you have no idea... how you'd behave....
To be affronted by solitude without decadence or a... single material thing to prostitute it elevates you to a sprititual plane, where I felt the presence of God..... Now, there's the God they taught about me about at school.... And there is the God that's hidden by what surrounds us in this civilization. That's the God I met on the mountain. " - legendary Moby
"I expect to pass through this world but once; any good thing therefore that I can do, or any kindness that I can show to any fellow creature, let me do it now; let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again." - Anon

I'd experimented with different genre's of music in the past, but one stood out from the crowd for me immediately after listening to a CD sampler, produced by the Legendary, Global Underground record label, back in 1998..
For an hour i was moved by the sound i heard through the headsets that day. that day was the first time music stirred my soul. Its been nearly 11 years since then, and NOT one track from that sampler CD feels out of touch today.
That Sampler was Global Underground: Departures. The first album, with the awesome classic "three drives on a Vinyl - Greece 2000" .. if you havent heard the sampler i suggest you get your hands on it today..
...and the rest as they say is history : )
I like alot fo the old skool classic trance from 1999ish onwards, and this is clearly envident in my Trance playlists. I do like some of the newer sounds, but in my opinion, they just dont make them like they used to. However, im always open to suggestions from others on any tunes that they may feel, maybe of interest to me.
I also enjoy listening to some oldskool from the late 1980's and early 1990's England.. Its worth a browse, with a few sounds that were well ahead of thier time, still find it hard to believe that some of them are over 20 years old!!!
But thats the kinda of quality work that those guys did back in the day, with non or little recognition for their work!! The government at the time outlawed raves, which ironically led to the emergence of superclubs:) Perhaps it would of been better if the scene was allowed to breed underground undisturbed... who knows.. but i personally think ommercialisation has not ripped the soul out of trance / or other genre's etc, becuase for some people, the soul of their music live's inside of them. it is in their blood.
One must listen and acknowledge the soul, before one can trully hear and understand the free mind ; )
Beleive music can be medicinal, if its therapeutic powers / knowledge is shared with others.
Be good, or dont get caught.
take care
