About this user

An accomplished painter, John was born in England and raised in Ontario, Canada. He currently resides in St. Thomas, Ontario: the Railway Capital of Canada. Johns work provides a fresh perspective to train art/locomotives/classic trains and steam engines. John's contemporary impressionistic style demonstrates his perceptive eye and refined knowledge of colour, texture, and light. Influenced by renowned Russian and Ukrainian artists that he represented as a successful art dealer in the 1990's, John's style is refreshingly sophisticated yet understated.

Currently, John is working on the master copies for a series of replica vintage railroad paintings/prints. He completed the oil painting '5700-Retored To Glory' in 2008. In February 2010, Tribute Arts released a Special Limited Edition Print '5700 - Restored To Glory' commemorating Elgin County Railway Museum's 20th Anniversary. You can see his progress on the next train paintings with videos posted of him working on these.
