I saw Natalie interviewed by the NYT not long ago as part of their artist series. She happened to drop this little gem...when auditioning for the maniacs, unknown to her, someone spiked her drink with acid. She said she was completely stoned and has no idea why she was chosen. Maybe atw247 knows!

An incredibly deep, personal song. I give Joni props for her song about the east coast. She's so clearly a west coast person. I had my opportunity to see her play in Boston at an outdoor concert.
