Dennis Cannizzo Dennis Cannizzo wurde am 12.08.1978 in Rotenburg (Wümme) geboren und begann im Alter von 12 Jahren mit dem Gitarrenspiel. Bereits ab dem 15. Lebensjahr besuchte er zahlreiche renommierte, hochkarätig besetzte Clincs, Jazzworkshops etc. in ganz Deutschland. Er hatte unter anderem Unterricht bei:

Marcus Deml (Errorhead), Frank Itt (Bass), Dave Urich, Sandra Hempel, Jörg Seidel, Martin Flint, Frank Delle (sax) und Jörn Anders (tp).

Auf der "Zevener Gitarrenwoche" lernte er 1994 den deutschen Jazzgitarristen Thomas Brendgens-Mönkemeyer kennen, der auch als Dozent für Jazzgitarre an der Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hannover tätig ist. Diese Bekanntschaft war für seinen weiteren Werdegang wegbereitend.

In der Zeit von 2000 bis 2006 belegte Dennis den Studiengang Jazz/Rock/Pop an der Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hannover. Im Rahmen zahlreicher Workshops, in Combos sowie im Einzelunterricht lernte er bei folgenden namhaften Musikern und Dozenten:

Thomas Brendgens-Mönkemeyer, Woody Man, Nils Wogram, Ed Kröger, Prof. Dr. Herbert Hellhund, Ede Brummund-Rüther, Jonas Schoen, Ulli Orth, Nicolai Thärichen, Florian Ross, Bernd Homann, Axel Wolf, Dieter "zippa" Schmigelok, Tuck & Patty, Peter Bernstein, Chick Corea und weiteren.

Sowohl als Solokünstler als auch -- mit seinem Projekt 'reflections about jazz' -- in der Kategorie 'Band' ist er Preisträger des Winning-Jazz-Wettbewerbs 2001.

Durch sein Wirken in vielen regionalen und überregionalen Projekten hat sich Dennis Cannizzo mittlerweile einen Namen in der Jazz- und Fusion-Szene gemacht.

At the "Zeven Guitar Festival" he met the German jazz guitarist Thomas Brendgens-Mönkemeyer, who also works as a lecturer for jazz guitar at Hanover University of Music and Drama. This acquaintance paved way for his further personal record.

From 2000 to 2006 Dennis studied jazz/rock/pop at Hanover University of Music and Drama. During several workshops, in combos and in private lessons he learned from the following reknown musicians and lecturers:

He won awards on the "Winning-Jazz" contest in 2001 as a solo artist and, together with his project 'reflections about jazz' in the category 'band'.

Due to his work for several regional and nationwide projects Dennis Cannizzo is nowadays well-known in the Jazz and Fusion scene.
