When I was a kid in the 60's, my parents would go out for dinner and dancing every Saturday night. They'd have a drink before leaving and "Wave" was one of their favorites to put on the stereo during "drink time." Jobim or Mancini was constantly playing in our house!

I heard Mancini do this version live with the Boston Pops in Lexington, Kentucky in 1980. You could have heard a pin drop when they played Two For The Road! They also did Moment To Moment, another beauty of his!

No one does this as well as "Brother Ray." Rest in peace, baby!

The orchestration is MAGNIFICENT! At 3:29 French Horns....YES! Whatever key Dame Kiri sings this in it's still a thing of beauty that was a joke in the movie! As Susan Alexander says in Citizen kane, "I'm the one who gets the raspberries!"

Ever since I saw the movie as a child, i have loved this song and the talent that is Miss Sally Ann Howes. The lyrics and the orchestration are simply haunting! The final moments of the song, I catch myself listening to the chords in the strings--sheer gorgeousness!

This song is the epitome of the love I have for my wife of 23 years. Our love has endured sad times and rejoiced in good times. Thank you Mr. Cole for sharing your love and talent with so many people!

Also one of my favorite Patricia Neal performances. She was a lady you could sit down with and drink a cold beer! When she tells him, "I'm called Maggie!" you knew they would fall for eachother.

This scene just tears me up, this one and the dinner with the officers and Donna Reed. When she cries and tells Rusty "...they're all such swell fellas." I wonder how many couples like them faced the same situation on Bataan or Corregidor. Just makes me sad.

This, without a doubt, is one of the loveliest, pieces Anderson ever composed. Reminds me of Robert Farnon's La Claire Fontaine. Just beautiful!

I have always loved this short little melancholy piece. I would love to know what, if anything, inspired the title.

I dearly love this short, beautiful theme. As the camera pans across the compartment we see the Princesses photos of the czar and her relatives and feel her longing for the Russia she loved and lost.

TOO FAST! The organist obviously cannot play at this tempo. Walton didn't write the mistakes Mr. Morgan is making! Why do American choirs think they have to sing our English music so bloody fast! The "Holy, Holy" wasn't bad, but I prefer "Gawd" not a Cleveland, Ohio "GAHD!"
